Bosal produces two types of fixed towbars: with welded-on ball head and with bolted-on ball head. Fixed towbars are particularly recommended for applications where a maximum amount of tractive force is required. Fixed towbars from Bosal are especially designed for frequent use.
One important advantage with a fixed towbar is of course the price. In comparison to detachable and retractable towbars, a fixed version from Bosal is very inexpensive and is available for certain vehicle models for less than 75 euros. Finally, note that on a fixed towbar, the ball head is firmly connected to the crossbar and cannot be removed when not in use.
Bosal differentiates between detachable towbars that are inserted horizontally and vertically. Like other systems from Westfalia, Auto-Hak, Oris or Brink, every detachable towbar system from Bosal has its advantages and disadvantages. Since the ball head must be removed when not in use, a version inserted vertically can offer a better look depending on the vehicle, than a towbar inserted horizontally. With these versions, the cut-out on the bumper hardly visible or not visible at all.
Another important factor in detachable towbar systems from Bosal is the differentiation made between manual and automatic towbar systems. For manual systems, the ball head must be inserted into the crossbar and secured manually. With automatic systems from Bosal, the ball head automatically locks in place. If you are undecided about which Bosal towbar to purchase, we always recommend a detachable version. This offers more convenience than a fixed towbar and is considerably cheaper than a retractable version.
Bosal towing brackets are a special version of a fixed towbar. There versions either have a 2-hole flanged ball or a 4-hole flanged ball. Bosal towing brackets are specially manufactured for commercial applications that require high traction forces. Visual or aesthetic considerations play a rather minor role in towing brackets.
