Brink Towbars

Brink headquarters

Brink was founded at the beginning of the 20th century and is a well-known manufacturer of towbars across the globe and an established player in the OEM market. In 2003 the company celebrated its 100th anniversary and in 2006 Brink was taken over by Thule. In 2014, the „towbar“ division was separated from Thule, and since then, the towbar manufacturer has been operating under the old BRINK name and is part of the Brink Group.

Brink works with many car manufacturers and is able to produce a Brink towbar for almost every type of vehicle. According to the company, more than 200 new towbars are developed every year and 25 million vehicles have already been fitted with a Brink towbar. Such values are only achieved through high-quality and durable products, high customer satisfaction and constant product innovations.

Like many other towbar manufacturers on the market, BRINK has fixed towbars in its product range. Fixed towbars are divided into welded-on and bolted-on versions. A fixed towbar offers price benefits and is aimed at customers who need to use their trailer very frequently. Whether you decide on a welded-on towbar or a bolted-on towbar from Brink is entirely up to you.

Both systems are functionally completely identical and the difference between a welded-on or bolted-on towbar is only dependent on the vehicle and the construction of the towbar itself. There are also hardly any price differences between the two versions. Rather, it is the simple case that for vehicle A there is a welded-on towbar available, and for vehicle B, the manufacturer has opted for a bolted-on version.

When fitting the towbar, a piece of the bumper normally has to be cut out. If you buy a Brink towbar, which is inserted vertically or at an angle vertically, then depending on the vehicle type, the cut-out is hardly noticeable when looking at your vehicle from the rear. This of course offers a great visual benefit to the look of your vehicle. When it comes to detachable towbars, the Brink systems BMA, BMC and BMU are very well known on the market. These systems differ in the way the ball head is inserted/removed:

  • ball head inserted horizontally
  • ball head inserted vertically
  • ball head inserted at an angle vertically
