You need to have your BMW i3 towbar inspected, which requires that it is installed and shown to an expert. After the inspection the towbar must be recorded in the vehicle document.
A cut in the lower part of the bumper is required during installation. This cut will not be visible. Bumper cut dimensions and template are included with the installation instructions.
