This 13-pin electrical kit is connected to the existing data bus system of the VOLVO EX30. The car system will signal a fault in the trailer lighting. Attention! Coding is no longer necessary with this electrical kit.
If possible you can turn off parking assistance of your VOLVO EX30 with a push on a dashboard button. This electrical kit is installed in the boot only. A continuous current connection (terminal 30) for the trailer control unit must be available in the rear of the vehicle. No drilling in the rear panel of the vehicle. A grommet is already present on your VOLVO EX30. It is used by this vehicle-specific 13 pin kit. The socket of the electrical kit is already connected. It is therefore not required to connect each cable to the trailer socket.
The trailer socket is already connected with pin 9 for steady plus. Pin 10 can be used for 12 volt battery charging to connect additional electric consumers (e.g interior lighting, refrigerator, radio) while simultaneously charging a 12 V battery in the trailer.
