  • this wiring harness kit was developed for vehicles with no pre-equipment, but can also be used on vehicles with the 12-pin connector
  • it is possible that the engine cooling system of the vehicle is not equipped for operation of a trailer; in such cases it may be necessary to replace parts of the cooling system (e.g. fans)

This 13 pin electric wiring kit from ECS is made specifically for your AUDI A5 Convertible . The operation of this 13-pin electrical kit is very simple: It is detected by the data bus system in your AUDI A5 Convertible and is ready for operation after the vehicle has been coded for trailer operation. From now on, the electrical kit will inform you via the car's own system if the trailer lights are faulty.

The automatic deactivation of the parking assist function is supported by this 13 pin CAN-bus module kit. Included in this kit: high-quality, vehicle-specific colour-coded plug connectors, custom cable lengths and a detailed AUDI A5 Convertible installation manual. This electrical kit is installed in the boot only. A continuous current connection (terminal 30) for the trailer control unit must be available in the rear of the vehicle. No drilling in the rear panel of the vehicle. A grommet is already present on your AUDI A5 Convertible. It is used by this vehicle-specific 13 pin wiring kit.

The trailer socket is already connected with pin 9 to a steady plus function. And pin 10 can be used for trailer 12 volt battery charging to connect additional electric consumers (e.g interior lighting, refrigerator, radio) while simultaneously charging a 12 V battery in the trailer.
