Rameder offers the only tow-bar for the new Mercedes CLS model

The Mercedes CLS has done away with the notion that a coupé should have no more than two doors. This crossover successfully established a new body segment, which has already found a few copycats. Rameder, Europe’s leading provider of tow-bars, has broken another taboo and equipped the CLS with a tow bar even in its first generation. The concept paid off and the German company is the only one that also has a tow bar for the second generation (C218). Not even Mercedes would have one....

This convenient towing system including the electrical kit is available in the company’s Online-Shop at www.rameder.eu. In order not to impair the CLS’s racing line, the ball head is, of course, removable. It is inserted from below so that if it is not in use you won’t see anything in the rear apron. Compared with the first CLS generation, the towing capacity is increased by another 300kg and now stands at 2.3t – enough even for large caravans or horse trailers. A vertical coupling load of 85kg also allows fixing a bicycle carrier for up to four bikes or two e-bikes.
