The Rameder Digitest diagnostic tool strengthens the potential of independent garages

Read, reset, enable (EN)

Independent garages with their lower hourly rates are an inexpensive alternative for motorists. When it comes to vehicle electronics, however, these workshops are often put at a competitive disadvantage. They usually lack the brand-specific diagnostic tools of the big car dealerships. Certain services must therefore be bought in at great expense. With the help of the economical and efficient Rameder Digitest diagnostic tool, garages can reclaim their "digital independence". For Rameder, Germany's largest supplier of towbars, it is crucial that every garage should be able to recode any type of car for towing. Until now, vehicles with CAN bus or data bus architecture were usually subcontracted to a dealership garage which charges between 50 and 100 euros for this service. With the money saved you can either offer your customers highly competitive prices or increase your operating profit. In order to provide garages with the maximum added value, Rameder has decided to equip the Digitest with the most practical range of functions. The software package of the basic version is adequate for most standard tasks. The device, which has an extensive database of models, can easily be upgraded with software and hardware updates.

Apart from the ability to enable towbars, the Rameder Digitest Basic covers three further areas of interest. The most important one of these is fault diagnosis and fault elimination in the event log without which mechanical and electronic problems are often difficult to diagnose. If you subcontract this task to an authorised dealer, you will be charged a minimum of 20 to 50 euros for this work alone. Not to mention the additional time involved. The auto-scan feature comes in handy for problems which are difficult to diagnose: it enables the reading of data on all control units. These days, even routine servicing cannot be carried out without involving vehicle electronics: The Rameder Digitest Basic lets you reset the service interval indicator for all models. If you have to subcontract this task to an authorised dealer, you will be charged between 20 and 50 euros.

These four areas of application are by no means all the Rameder Digitest has to offer. Different upgrades significantly increase the diagnostic possibilities, allow components to be programmed, emissions tests to be carried out and a variety of parameters to be read. In order to satisfy different requirements for comfort and cost, the device is available in three hardware versions: The highly affordable entry model Rameder Digitest Basic is used in conjunction with a laptop or PC.

For more independence you can chose the Rameder Digitest Basic+, which features data transfer via Bluetooth. The most sophisticated solution is the Rameder Digitest Professional. This device is a genuine tablet PC with a touchscreen. The optional docking unit transforms it in a service station and allows you to connect an external TFT or printer. With its solid magnesium shell, a hard protecting case and a 7-inch outdoor screen the device is perfectly equipped for rough environments.
