This 7 pin wiring kit for your FORD S-MAX is manufactured by Trail-Tec for your car. This 7-pin electrical kit connects to the existing data bus system in your FORD S-MAX . Faulty trailer lights will be indicated by the car's own system. After installation of this electrical kit, the car needs to be coded for trailer use.
A shutdown of the factory-installed parking assist function of your FORD S-MAX is supported by this 7 pin CAN-bus module electrical kit. Included in this kit: high-quality, vehicle-specific colour-coded plug connectors, custom cable lengths and a detailed FORD S-MAX installation manual. This electrical kit is installed in the boot only. A continuous current connection (terminal 30) for the trailer control unit must be available in the rear of the car. No drilling in the rear panel of the vehicle. A grommet is already present on your FORD S-MAX. It is used by this vehicle-specific 7 pin wiring kit. It's not required to connect each cable to a trailer socket. A socket is already connected with this kit.
