This extension kit is required to be able to use the charging cable and the continuous current function in towbar mode with a caravan. The relay included for the charging cable prevents the trailer from completely discharging the vehicle battery. As soon as the vehicle's battery voltage falls below 12.8 volts, the connection between the two batteries is automatically disconnected.
