If your car has a parking assistance feature, it can be automatically shut down by the optional item 171084 when the trailer is coupled to the towbar. TowTec specifies an intallation time of 1 hour(s) for this 7 pin wiring kit. We know from experience that it is better to foresee 1 hour(s). It's not required to connect each cable to a trailer socket. A socket is already connected with this kit.
The extension kit 171084 is required to switch off the rear fog light(s) of your vehicle when towing a trailer or using a bicycle carrier. If the rear fog light(s) cannot be deactivated automatically, no bicycle carrier (load carrier) may be used in accordance with StVZO §49a Para. 9a.
