This 13 pin electric wiring kit from TowTec is made specifically for your VW TRANSPORTER T5 Platform/Chassis . This 13-pin electrical kit connects to the existing data bus system in your VW TRANSPORTER T5 Platform/Chassis . Faulty trailer lights will be indicated by the car's own system. After installation of this electrical kit, the car needs to be coded for trailer use.
If possible you can turn off parking assistance of your VW TRANSPORTER T5 Platform/Chassis with a push on a dashboard button. Included in this kit: high-quality, vehicle-specific colour-coded plug connectors, custom cable lengths and a detailed VW TRANSPORTER T5 Platform/Chassis installation manual. This electrical kit is installed in the boot only. A continuous current connection (terminal 30) for the trailer control unit must be available in the rear of the vehicle. No drilling in the rear panel of the vehicle. A grommet is already present on your VW TRANSPORTER T5 Platform/Chassis. It is used by this vehicle-specific 13 pin kit.
It is possible to extend pin 9 of the trailer socket to steady plus (to power electric items in the trailer) or pin 9 to steady plus and pin 10 to charge (e.g. a separate battery in the trailer) by adding the extension set 107650.
