This 13 pin ECS wiring kit is made specifically for your FORD S-MAX. The operation of this 13-pin electrical kit is very simple: It is detected by the data bus system in your FORD S-MAX and is ready for operation after the vehicle has been coded for trailer operation. From now on, the electrical kit will inform you via the car's own system if the trailer lights are faulty.
An automatic deactivation of the parking assist function of your FORD S-MAX is supported by this 13 pin CAN-bus module electrical kit. The installation of this electrical kit takes place in the boot only. Prerequisite for continuous current (terminal 30) for the trailer control unit is available in the rear of the vehicle. ECS specifies an installation time of 0.5 hour(s) for this 13 pin kit. We have found that it is better to foresee 1.5 hour(s).
The trailer socket is already connected with pin 9 to the steady plus (to operate electrical loads). Extend pin 10 with accessory 139243 to charge a battery in your trailer.
