This 13 pin Erich Jaeger wiring kit is made specifically for your VW SHARAN. This 13-pin electrical kit connects to the existing data bus system in your VW SHARAN . Faulty trailer lights will be indicated by the car's own system. After installation of this electrical kit, the car needs to be coded for trailer use.
The automatic deactivation of the parking assist function is supported by this 13 pin CAN-bus module kit. No drilling in the rear panel of the vehicle. A grommet is already present on your VW SHARAN. It is used by this vehicle-specific 13 pin kit. Erich Jaeger specifies an installation time of 1 hour(s) for this 13 pin kit. We have found that it is better to foresee 2.5 hour(s). It's not required to connect each cable to a trailer socket. A socket is already connected with this kit.
It is possible to extend pin 9 of the trailer socket to steady plus (to power electric items in the trailer) or pin 9 to steady plus and pin 10 to charge (e.g. a separate battery in the trailer) by adding the extension set 107650. A combinet retrofit solution for steady plus and charge 139243 is available separately.
