This 13 pin TowTec wiring kit is made specifically for your VOLVO EX40. This 13-pin electrical kit is easily integrated into the existing data bus system of your VOLVO EX40. If the trailer lights are damaged, the car's own system will signal the fault. Manual coding is not required with this electrical kit.
If possible you can turn off parking assistance of your VOLVO EX40 with a push on a dashboard button. High-quality, vehicle-specific plug connectors, colour coding, custom cable lengths and a detailed EX40 EX40 installation manual are all part of this wiring kit. This electrical kit is installed in the boot only. A continuous current connection (terminal 30) for the trailer control unit must be available in the rear of the car. No drilling in the rear panel of the vehicle. A grommet is already present on your VOLVO EX40. It is used by this vehicle-specific 13 pin wiring kit.
It is possible to extend pin 9 of the trailer socket to steady plus (to power electric items in the trailer) or pin 9 to steady plus and pin 10 to charge (e.g. a separate battery in the trailer). By adding the extension set 107650 you can combine charging and steady plus.
