This 13 pin TowTec wiring kit is made specifically for your BMW 5 Touring. This 13-pin electrical kit is connected to the existing data bus system of the BMW 5 Touring. The car system will signal a fault in the trailer lighting. Attention! Coding is no longer necessary with this electrical kit.
If available you can turn off parking assistance of your BMW 5 Touring with a button on your dashboard. Included in this kit: high-quality, vehicle-specific colour-coded plug connectors, custom cable lengths and a detailed BMW 5 Touring installation manual. This electrical kit is installed in the boot only. A continuous current connection (terminal 30) for the trailer control unit must be available in the rear of the vehicle. No need to drill into the rear panel of the vehicle. A grommet already exists on your BMW 5 Touring . It is used by this vehicle-specific 13 pin electrical kit. It's not required to connect the cables to a trailer socket. A socket is already connected with this kit.
It is possible to extend pin 9 of the trailer socket to steady plus (to power electric items in the trailer) or pin 9 to steady plus and pin 10 to charge (e.g. a separate battery in the trailer). By adding the extension set 107650 you can combine charging and steady plus.
